The Larimer County DUI Task Force hosted a DUI Sobriety checkpoint last Friday night with Fort Collins police and that resulted in 17 arrests.

During the checkpoint 1,185 vehicles were contacted. 15 were arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Ability Impaired and 2 for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. In addition, 2 citations were issued for Possession Drug Paraphernalia and less than One Ounce of Marijuana.

The event was a part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) “High Visibility Enforcement,” campaign. Members of the Fort Collins Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Loveland Police Department, CSU Police Department, Mothers against Drunk Driving, Poudre Valley Hospital and Poudre Valley Health Systems Ambulance Service participated in the enforcement efforts.
